writing now: 2011 game changers

I'm not one for making New Year's Resolutions so I wanted to say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012 by sharing my favorite items, what I call my Game Changes, for the year.  Some were products that I've discovered in 2011, some were those I rediscovered in 2011 and still others were items that have stood the test of time.

Blazers.

Blazers have totally changed the way I dress.  In 2011 I discovered that they can dress any outfit up.  Buttoned up, they also give those of us that may be lacking curves the illusion of a nice shape.  Total win.

The Beauty Blender Sponge.

Although I don't use this sponge every time I apply foundation or concealer, it has certainly transformed the way I do my makeup.  A flawless finish, every time.

Gap Leopard Scarf.

This has to be my favorite purchase of winter 2011.  It is soft and warm and I just can't get enough.  I honestly want to wear it every.single.day.

My Nail Routine.

It's so rare that I find a routine that works and that I don't want to change at all.  Orly Bonder, two coats of nail polish, Seche Vite Quick Drying Top Coat.  For me, this combination is a winner!.

Makeup Forever High Definition Foundation.

I don't know how they did it, but MUFE has a winner in this product.  The range of colors and undertones is amazing.  Even when I've gotten darker or lighter over the years, I've always been able to find a match.  It applies flawlessly, is cosmetically elegant, is buildable, and photographs like a dream.  What more can you ask for?

Details. 

Reading various blogs has taught me that what you wear matters less than the details.  The details say that you put thought into your outfit beyond your usual combination of shirt, pants, shoes.  I won't say that I managed to master this in 2011, but I gained the knowledge!  If I was going to make a 2012 resolution, it would be to accessorize more.

I would also like to give an honorable mention to the Red Carpet Manicure Pro Kit/Gel Nail.

This was a late 2011 addition, but so far, I'm in love!  I hope 2012 brings me many more gel manicures!
